2017 Highlights

Today is the last day of 2017. Let’s reflect our highlights during the year:

  • Carol Cheng received the 2017 Emerging Director Award from the Institute of Directors Auckland Branch on 29 August 2017.

  • Carol joined the Financial Markets Authority Board as the 1st Future Director on 1 Sept 2017.

Carol Cheng was the master of ceremony of the 1st “New Zealand – China Business Assembly” in Auckland. She also made a presentation to introduce New Zealand Investment Environment. More than 120 people attended this event with approximately 70 business leaders from China. This event was jointly organised by NZCTA and CCPIT/CCOIC – Chinese Chamber of International Commerce.

Carol Cheng was honoured to attend the Gala Luncheon to celebrate the visit of Li Keqiang, The Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China at The Langham hotel in Auckland.

Carol Cheng attended an exclusive dinner with Rt Hon Bill English, Prime Minister of NZ at that time and asked him a good question. “If there is a real chance of economy slowdown in the coming year in NZ, how could you deal with it?”

Carol Cheng, who is the Treasurer and Executive Member of New Zealand China Trade Association (NZCTA) attended NZCTA China Business Awards 2017 in Auckland. Carol and her fellow NZCTA executive members and colleagues had put lots of time and efforts to organise this important event. There were more than 600 people attended this successful event.

Carol Cheng joined Auckland Council Business Delegation, which was led by Auckland Mayor Phil Goff to attend the Tripartite Economic Alliance Summit in Guangzhou China.

Carol Cheng was invited by CCPIT (China Council for the Promotion of International Trade) to present on 2017 Chinese Enterprises Outbound Investment Conference in Changsha, China. There were more than 600 people attended this event with more than 100 people from different countries. Carol promoted investing in NZ and stressed the importance of engaging professional advisors such as accountants and lawyers for cross border transactions.

Carol Cheng was invited by Hunan CCOIC to attend “Run towards the Sun – How to Grasp the New Opportunities in the International Market Forum” in Changsha, China. Carol met a number of Hunan CCOIC business leaders during the conference.
